About Brent
Brent is a Partner with Rivertree Financial Planning.
Brent brings 20 years of experience in the financial industry to the Rivertree team.
A native of Brandon, MS, Brent attended The University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University. While he lettered in baseball, Brent earned a Bachelors’s Degree in Banking and Finance and Managerial Finance from the University of Mississippi.
Following graduation, Brent began his career in the banking industry, where he served as branch manager and lender for BankPlus in Jackson, MS. Brent later made an industry shift and worked as an analyst with Segal RogersCasey, an investment management consulting firm in Atlanta, GA. While at Segal RogersCasey, Brent worked with pension plans, endowments and foundations ranging in asset size from $30Mil to $2Bil. Brent specifically assisted with asset allocation, investment manager selection and overall plan administration.
Being drawn back to his home state of Mississippi, Brent returned and joined benefits consulting firm Glynn Griffing and Associates in 2009. Through serving clients at GGA, Brent developed many relationships with public school systems throughout Mississippi.
Brent joined Rivertree in 2014 and currently holds his series 7, 63 & 65 licenses to sell securities and is also licensed to sell various insurance products. Brent is a Registered Representative with Valmark Securities, Inc., an independent, registered broker-dealer, and member FINRA & SIPC. Brent is also an Investment Advisor Representative with Valmark Advisers, Inc., a Registered Investment Advisor.
Brent has been awarded the AIF® – Accredited Investment Fiduciary® Designation by the Center for Fiduciary Studies.
Brent and his wife Katie live in Flowood with their four children Lela, William, Maggie, and James. They are members of Pinelake Church where Brent currently serves on the Finance Committee.
